Scratch

From today, I have 11-and-a-half days of school. 


And because my grades are so high, I get to use Scratch lots.

We don't waste our time on stuff like recess or long lunch/whatever breaks though (our longest break is 15 minutes, and we don't have an official lunch time)... I heard they have that stuff in America.

We have 15 minute breaks.
And sometimes you have set lunch, depending on grade/school.

Last day: June 2 (This year, and it's my B-Day that day)
Days of the week: Middle 5
Hours: 7:50 to 2:20
State: Kentucky

And gasp,    six days of school.

I have to stay in school until June 14th.

Because I think it's weird how so many people end school so early o_O

No, but Friday is... I didn't count Friday because nobody goes. All of our teachers tell us that if we come, we will clean (which a super-secret way of saying "don't come" without getting in trouble.    ). Our last finals are tomorrow, so there is no point in having school after that...

I guess I'll answer the questions:

What's the first day of school for you? Usually in the middle of August
What's the last day of school for you? Usually near the end of May
What days of the week are school? Monday- Friday
What hours are school for you? 7:25-2:25, but zero hour (which I have) is at 6:25
What state (if in U.S., else country) do you live in? Somewhere...

Lunch is a half-hour. We have 7 classes, but only 4 classes a day, except Fridays, when we have all 7. We have seven minute passing periods, which isn't as long as it sounds, considering our campus is pretty big. In fact, seven minutes is not nearly enough time if you have to go all the way across campus... Last year we had 8 minute passing periods, which was good, but then the schedule changed.

And that's my school!

Yep, in Switzy kids get out in late June and in in early August.

Wow. Do you get longer/more breaks in the middle of the year?
There are a few year-round charter schools in my area. They end up going to school the same amount of time we do- they just have more breaks throughout the year.

Oh, I guess I should tell you what my breaks are.   

Fall break: 2 days
Winter break: 2 weeks
Spring break: 1 week

And then we get off a few days here and there for national holidays.

Fall: 3 days
Winter: 1 week
Spring: 2 weeks
Summer: 2.5 months

For the last few months we've had five days of school a week (unofficially) because of people complaining that it's nearly summer already and they can't even go to their dacha's on the weekend because of school.

It was PURE TORTURE. D8< Everyone hated it in the end, and I always came back home from school with a headache because of information overload.

Luckily next year we will get back to six days a week.
