Once Andrés was curator for a bit, "because the person in charge of curators is not here right now". (Something along those lines). Well, I can't remember where I read that, but if it's true, then that might be your answer.

That seems to be a mystery to all of us. Maybe they try to pick people who have a variety of projects in their favorites. Maybe only one person chooses.

Scratch Team requested and we talked, but...
I never remembered to send that email back! I should do it right now... hope it's not too late.
What happens is they come out and tell you through their messages. Then I went to "contact us"(in the directions from what I remember) and sent an email of my timeframe, they sent back, etc.
I never sent the email that I wanted to do it next month, I forgot through the mountain of schoolwork I've had lately.
Now it's almost over. And I remember.
On the picking: I think Lightnin picks, and the Scratch Team approves, or something like that. Ask the Scratch Team.

I'm sure It's Lightning who chooses, but I'm pretty sure Andres and a few other Scratch Team members help
And yep, Andres was a curator for a short while because (Lightning?) was away and couldn't give his decision
