The Community of Chocalate Horses is a fledgling, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its strong anti-business politics. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 5 million love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

The government -- a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, socially-minded morass -- juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Religion & Spirituality, and Commerce. The average income tax rate is 39%, but much higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Woodchip Exports.

Crime is moderate, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Chocalate Horses's national animal is the human, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the taco.

The Republic of Lonwol is a fledgling, economically powerful nation, notable for its complete lack of public education. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 5 million are free to succeed or fail in life on their own merits; the successful tend to enjoy an opulent (but moralistic) lifestyle, while the failures can be seen crowding out most jails.

The minute, moralistic, pro-business government, or what there is of one, devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Social Welfare receiving almost no funds by comparison. Income tax is unheard of. A large private sector is led by the Beef-Based Agriculture industry, followed by Cheese Exports and Arms Manufacturing.

Crime is a serious problem. Lonwol's national animal is the albino wolf, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the lonwolanite.

The average income tax rate is 38%, but much higher for the wealthy. A substantial private sector is led by the Cheese Exports industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Automobile Manufacturing.
