All you really need is the squeak VM for sugar and something to run the panther image with it.
No, it's not that simple. With fairly minor changes you can get an application that runs under Linux to run more or less adequately under Sugar, but it won't behave like a Sugar app. There are special conventions about how to do file I/O, there's the collaboration over the net, etc. It's a lot of work to Sugarize an application correctly, but since it's already been done for Scratch it should be much easier to fold that into Panther.

The One Laptop Per Child is a good idea

How do I change the stage size in panther?

Changing the stage size would be implemented.
Sparks: O_o I don't really recall saying that, so it was probably a while back. sadly (and I find this annoying too) you can choose to resize the canvas for the stage, but once you click OK, it will revert to original size and chop everthing off that does not fit it works fine with sprites though. (If you didn't know, there is a rezise button in the paint editor just below the rotation tools.)

nXIII is working on making some parts of the panther UI to be rearangeable. But the stage isn't resizeable. Plus it wouldn't work when viewed in the applet (Still under construction.) because it has a set screen size.

With applet tell me when done as I would like to use. Please tell me mesh blocks work in it.

Well, contained in the topic of rearrangingable UI elements, the stage WILL be resizeable, it will just use (possibly better) interpolation to make the sprites bigger, rather than actually changing the dimensions.

Its no where near finished, and it's likely we'll release it. But it'll only work with panther projects.

Will the java player be able to use the mesh blocks? And if so could I make a wesite run it and then connect to a website on mesh?

Mesh is for computer to computer. I/O is what you would use to read webpages. And I don't know if the scratch applet be able to use mesh. MathWhizz is the one doing it, and he's been rather quiet lately.

Ok by website I mean get a website to have the player and run and host a mesh. Then get a project downloaded and connect to the project on the website via mesh (using the IP of the website)

You're talking about servers there JD. You have to pay for one usually, and the java player won't be able to host meshes. It won't be able to read files either because your computer would block it, so we won't include it. you might be able to read internet URLS though.

Oh ok, I would just like it to host meshes online, so I could use my MMOG to connect to a online project, rather than having a diffrent server per person as such.

hahahahahahaha! I just saw his face as I scrolled down! (not laughing at his face, he has nice eyes) You're right. I think I would recognise him here in context, but unless he still looks exactly like that, and poses inside a small square as I happen to pass, I don't think I would click for a while.
