So I'm making a Gears Of War RPG. A turn based one.
The current title is going to be Gears of War: Battles
The main gameplay as I said shall be turn based.
But there shall be two full campaigns two play. Each with you controlling two members of Delta Squad.
The story is an adaptation of the plot of Gears of War 1.
Here's how it goes:
The locust army are spreading through the land, taking cities and killing the population of the very earth. The job of destroying the locust is up to the COG army. The games main focus is on Delta Squad. With a line up of Marcus, Dom, Baird and Cole.
With the locust pushing harder and further into the cities, Delta Squad must infiltrate the catacombs the locust live in and deploy the Lightmass Bomb.
That is your main objective.
As this game shall be split into 2 parts, Marcus and Dom and Baird and Cole, one team shall secure the data for the lightmass bomb, (as the bomb needs a map of the tunnels.)
The other team shall get the bomb, infiltrate the tunnels and deploy it.
End game.
Here's what I've been up to:
That's the HUD. As Gears fans will see, I have the Crimson Omen in there. The buttons highlight with a mouse over them.
That's Marcus Fenix. The main character for all of the Gears games. Including this one. I'm really proud of how the graphics are looking right now.
That's a Locust Drone. For non-Gears players, these creatures are the COG army's enemies. The Drone is the grunt of the Locust horde.
That's the menu. I love it. The music is awesome too.
So there's some of the stuff in progress. The release won't be too soon, but I'm hoping this will be my best project yet.
I want you to know that this game shall not be a rushed job, I am making sure this is one of the best scratch projects ever.
I have the official Gears of War music and even the real voices of the characters.
This just shows that I'm serious about this being fantastic.
Completed tasks:
Marcus and Locust Drone characters complete.
Music complete. (Official Gears music! WOOT!)
HUD complete.
Music complete.
Voice Acting complete.
Menu complete.
Options complete.
Extras complete.
Current task: Probably the hardest thing I'll have to do in this game, implement the TBRPG engine, this may take a while...
I hope you can see that this is a major step forward in quality of games for me.
Also, sorry for the relatively bad quality screenshots. Meh, paint isn't very good.
Oh and before I forget, this project will be no small thing. This will be a HUGE game.
Do you have suggestions? Tell me!!!

Sprites arent the best and need A LOT of work to them. Plus save them as .PNG for now, not JPEG. It may be my screen but they look JPEG to me.

Well, this is a sudden shift from "Daisy".

Will this be appropriate for the community? Try to keep the blood down, OK?

What's the gameplay going to be like? Final Fantasy? HP=armor and MP=skill?

Nothing to advanced. An HP system, ammo amounts, and an XP system.
I want it to be a simple and easy to use system.
The battle damage is calculated on DEF and ATK amounts, nothing too advanced.

2 things: Firstly, would you happen to actually be a New Zealander?
Secondly, great work so far, I hope to see more of it in the future.
G00D LUCK!
