I would love to be a curator! If I am chosen, I would get projects that didn't have much attention that were good, or projects that the creator put lots of work into. I've helped loads of people and have been on Scratch for almost two years. I hope I get chosen!

They send you a message asking you to contact them if you're still interested in the curator position.

I hope I can be a curator! I just recently made a project with the scratch cat in it! You can interact with him by moving the mouse around the screen! Also, I'm making this series called TSI where members of scratch create characters to make episodes! I'm already on episode 4! Maybe you could check it out! I am pretty well known on scratch and my friend Mario555 said he was surprised that I wasn't famous yet! So that's why I came here, to be well known, to help my friends be well known and to get front paged! Please enter me!
Sincerely,
~Anko6

I would like to become a curator. I would add projects that are: educational, popular, & cool

I've only been on scratch for about a year (this is my new account, my old one is cherrypups), but I help people if they ask, and I really want to help more people get on the front page. I know I haven't commented in the forums much, but I do look at all sorts of projects, popular or not, and give them suggestions for improvement or help them with glitches. I don't care if I'm on the front page myself, I just want to help out the less noticed scratchers of the community. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PICK ME FOR CURATOR SO I CAN HELP MY FELLOW SCRATCHERS GET NOTICED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,
I'm demosthenes (as you may or may not know depending on whether you looked over there <-----) I've been Scratching since early 08 and late 07 (yes late 07 I didn't register 'til 08) and I've seen all kinds of scratch projects. I pride myself on ability to sift through projects to determine which are diverse, unique, original, inspiring, smoothly designed, and easy to adapt. If I were to become curator I would work to look through scratch projects that have received little attention, but could provide something to the community. Whether this would be because it was simple and provided an easy base for Scratch users to build off of, gave me inspiration that I felt the whole community would benefit from if it were on the front page, or provided a interesting and entertaining message that could reach and resound through all corners of the community, no matter how different racially, religiously, ethnically, or otherwise. I would choose projects that are well polished and push the limits of Scratch and present programming at its best.
Well, that's about all I can say on the matter (without ranting) so, thanks for reading (unless your one of those naughty people who skips to the bottoms of posts >.>) and please consider me as a candidate for curator.

I'm just reposting my speech that got lost in a sea of replies.

I would love to be a curator on the Scratch Homepage.
The homepage is a great place for people to find interesting and creative projects.
And that's exactly what I would show.
I would pick the projects that use Scratch in new and innovative ways.
I would pick a whole variety of projects, including maybe some tutorials, some games and some art.
Basically projects that are worthy and deserving.

I would really like to be curator on the Scratch homepage.
Over the 6 months I've been around, I've seen quite a lot. I've seen really good projects that get very few views, and silly (and kind of undeserving) projects taking top loved and top viewed sections. That is simply wrong. People who pour over Scratch for hours on end, and produce great final products, should be the ones getting the front-page.
If I became curator, I would pick unnoticed projects that I think are deserving of the homepage, giving many Scratchers a chance to get their unnoticed projects front-paged without having to beg for love-its. I would also pick a variety of projects, from art to games to animations, and much more. I would try to exhibit the diversity of all the projects on the Scratch website in that little box at the top of the homepage.
I also have a lot of free time, and I could spend a while looking around the Scratch website for the perfect projects to exhibit.
There's my speech!

I think I might want to be a curator, one question though, what if you favorite all your projects? Won't it seem a little weird for people? (Not that I have, I'm just asking.)
EDIT: Oh yeah, will it automatically update when you favorite new projects?

Yep, it does - but it can take about a half hour.

I would like to be curator. I think I would be good because I would choose basic projects that explain ho to do things, like a scrolling demo, or platform engine. Also, I would choose creative projects, not just ones I think are cool. I try to get along with everyone, and I know lots of people want to be curator, so I will be patient. By the way, I would add projects like: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/switenky/791350 and http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/archmage/28903 !

Survivor! xD
I think he'll choose interesting projects.
She, not he.
Sorry, just had to point that out.
Argh... I really want to be more active in the community besides posting on the forums.
Once I become active enough... in a few months, maybe... I'll be overjoyed to curate!

Congratulations, Survivorduck!
...
A question - how often should you apply for being curator?

Once. It may not seem like it immediately, but the Scratch team does read every post in here.
