Enemy Firing

I need help with enemy firing in a space game. How should I go about doing this? I was going to use a variable (enemyshot or something) but how would I use that.

An example script would be this:

[point towards [your spaceship]]
[repeat until <<touching [your spaceship]]>>]
[//[move (5) steps]
[endrepeat]

It's quick, but it's not of extreme quality... as for the top, you can cap it with what you need - a broadcast or something else. :)
