It says that I need to become the super user but IDK what the default root pass is-- My password won't work

Try your root password.

If that doesn't work, try "su root" - it worked fine for me.

Code:

$ su root
Password:
# apt-get install sun-java6-jdk (or whatever the java package is named).

Use Wubi. Aww, I'm way too late.

Go to accounts, and enable the root user. You can create your own password, then, login into root.
