The answer to your question is simple: draw sprites using the Scratch "Paint" window, then tell them what to do using blocks. The blocks themselves are pretty self-explanatory: for example, change x by 1 changes the x position of the sprite by 1. To play a project, press the green flag - just make sure that you have that at the top of the scripts you want to start at the green flag. Play around with the blocks and be creative, and don't forget to have fun!
You can share your projects by pressing the "Share" button at the top of the Scratch window.
Hope that helped!
Have fun!
Oh, and this should probably go in either go in All About Scratch or New Users.
