I made a scrolling template you can use http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/archmage/635312
Ideally, with this kind of game you would use tiles which isn't possible with scratch. So you can't do anything like recreate a mario game but you can still make something neat.

Using your template, would there be anyway to port what I have into a system like it?

Sure, you just have to know what you are doing.

Here's what I have so far: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/JNet/1053871
Is there anyway to make the Mario's jumping code smoother? (the animation)
EDIT: For some reason a bug occurs where he jumps up and down in place, but it still movable. It seems to do with your yVelocity code. How do I fix this?

I'd say you did an awesome job for someone new, but it still has some glitches.
Sometimes when you jump on the goombas, they kill you instead of you killing them. And when you do kill them, you fall through the ground.

Have you tried downloading it? There are several glitches with the online one.

I have some more poses and some enemies I'll bring in. I'll also help you with more tiles.
