Aperture Science, they made a gun that shoots portals but they can't manage to keep a research vessel intact.
I guess most of their employees are dead anyway.

It's a puzzle game where you shoot portals to move from one place to another. You have to be quick and smart, and you have to think things through most of the time.
I got it free in another deal a few weeks ago, and I am really enjoying it. Well, now that i beat it, it isn't as fun, but going through it with commentary is pretty cool

I can't believe I bought it D:
Well, now I can relax knowing I can buy it for a Mac when I finally get one. Soon. If I can't get the Mac before I the deal ends, I can download the Mac app on my Ubuntu/Windows machine for now, and transfer it over, right?

If you bought it on a Steam account and log onto the account from a different computer you still have access to all the games you bought.
Unless there's some weird hoobo-joobo between PC Steam and Mac Steam, which wouldn't really make sense.

Well, actually my brother bought Portal, and I have no idea what his Steam password is, so it's good that there's a free copy here for me to use, as the Orange Box copy only works once.

Yes. Steam has some new feature allowing you to buy the program for any platform and get it on every platform so long as you live (and use your same account).
