Well in the US, there's been major talks of this oil disaster that has been on-going for a couple of weeks now. This pipe that was down on the sea floor has ruptured causing thousands of tonnes of oil to rush out. What makes it worse is that people don't know how to stop the problem. The safety valve that was suppose to stop the oil from spilling out failed thus forcing people to resort to another solution that has yet to be discovered.
There were attempts on filling the hole however they have all failed. The clean up has already begun due to threats of the oil reaching inland. However, if the situation doesn't improve, the massive amounts of oil will reach inland causing an even more endangering problem. Wild life officials can't even predict the extensiveness that this will cause on the health of those in the sea.
80% of the shrimp consumed by Americans and Canadians are from the Golf thus shrimp will be extremely expensive. Many sea turtles are dieing along with other creatures. This problem is yet to be fixed and as you read this, tonnes of oil is getting released killing countless animals.
What do you think about this?

Millions of fish, etc. are dying. Pollution is overwhelming. This might cause the world to end sooner, in around 1000 years. Doesn´t bother you?
everyone has their own opinion on the oil spill, some just choose to ignore the threats it will cause in the future.

Simple solution: Have an on-off switch on the oil machines.
But yea, thats really bad...

He's saying that there should be a way to turn the oil on and off that way the oil wont be wasted and they can fix the leak

I'm not American nor do I live there but it is reported in BBC news. It sounds REAL bad. Hope they sort it out soon and the company who are resposible gets fined heavily.

My opinion: We are all pencils. *nods* If we didn't drill so much oil in the FIRST PLACE, this wouldnt happen. and in the GULF! Who's bright idea was THAT? I mean,I'm about forty years younger than these people and I've already figured half of it out. You dont get oil from under a body of water. Something BOUND to happen. You just dont do it. I'm ahsamed. very ashamed of where i live right now. I live a few miles from where it happened,so I'm gettin heat. I was suppposed to go fishing out there with my dad,now look.

But that doesn't work. The reason the oil is coming up is because of tremendous pressure under the earth.

We shouldn't be drilling off-shore where we can't reach it in the first place. Of course something like this would happen.

Usually I'd agree, but...
"80% of the shrimp consumed by Americans and Canadians are from the Golf thus shrimp will be extremely expensive."
I'm rich! My stocks will go up!
Edit:
What? Who doesn't invest in sea food?

Lots of people do actually invest in shrimp, and it's becoming a trend because of the oil spill. So we should go and buy some shrimp stocks now.

Not only does it do that, It causes floods! It's only a bit of water and we should sprout gills in a few billion years time.

They also estimated already that it would take about 36 million US dollars to clean-up.

Seems people care more about the problems the oil spill is/will cause rather than the 19 people (or less) who died. I know there's nothing you can do about their deaths (you can't bring them back to life), but wherever I see info on the oil spill, they never say anything on the people who died. Even on Wikipedia they say like one sentence on it. I still hope they get the oil spill fixed up though
