I don't think this is fair because the people on the list have all had their games on the homepage, but anyone could have an absolutely fantastic game but nobody knows about it, so i think there should be a competition to see who should be on the list of best scratchers.

However I'm not sure it really matters who are the best scratchers. Tons of people just started or try new ideas that don't get recognized.

I dont think there is a best scratcher only because everyone progresses at there own pace and some work is better than others and it switches on and off. My Nomination Everyone ^_^
Agreed. I can see your point in a best Scratcher contest, but there are just too many people out there. Some people help other users, some make good projects, some get on the front page, some are the first to do a certain thing with Scratch, etc. And, different people have different views on who should be awarded the best!

Um, I probably sound like everyone else, but review my games please. I'll let YOU decide if I'm worthy. (FYI: I invented a new scrolling method)

There are many different ways of evaluating the work of people on Scratch. In many ways is like asking for a list of the best musicians. There are so many different types of music and styles, and there is people who like some and not others. Some people who don't like classical music might not like Mozart while others might think it's the greatest composer ever. Who is right? No one, and everyone. It's very subjective. For these and other reasons, contests like this one have not been well received by the Scratch Community.
I think is OK if you list the name of the Scratchers that you admire the most because that's your own opinion and it would be a good compliment for those people. One thing you could do, is always emphasize that it's just your own opinion and that other people might have different opinions.
On the other hand, I think a lot of the people on this forums already have their favorite Scratchers and that's what your list of favorite projects is for.
A good challenge would be to find unknown Scratchers that have never been on the front page whose work is really interesting!
If you search on the forums you might find similar threads that have lead to unnecessary arguments, so I would just like to ask you to keep this thread positive and constructive otherwise it can get closed.
Well, that's my opinion :-)

I'm not saying who I think is the best on scratch, I'm just trying to see who the people think is the best on scratch. I also am making a requirement that someone else has to post your name on the forums to be added to the list because everyone thinks they are good

i think that the majority of the people are against this idea... but srsly, this is pointlesss... wuts to gain from knowing who the best scratcher is? youll make one person happy, but upset all others.....every1 is good in theyre own way in scratch, and you cant really judge different things of this sort

I agree that everyone is good in thier own way. But I am not judging, I'm asking the people to vote on who they think is best. And wwhat is to gain from knowing who the most popular scratcher is. Use your brain for once in your life sidd. If you know who the most popular scratcher is then you know what the common scratch member enjoys in a project. Using this info you can become popular too.

The best scratch project is the one that teaches its creator the most.
Going from "never programmed before" to "enough knowledge to put up a simple animation" is a far bigger leap than going from "learned all kinds of programming years ago" to "made an amazing scratch project."
So don't be discouraged - if you learned something abou programming from your scratching you are, IMO, a better scratcher than those of us who have been programming in one form or another for years, and are just showing off our "leet programming skills".

I personally think that one major person is not on that list. I nominate fullmoon as one of the best scratchers on the website. I personally do not think that I would be good enough to be on here, so I will not ask I do think that fullmoon is, considering his many amazing projects, such as Blizzards Run, and his Dynamic Resize. The majority of my projects are not games, which are the things that interest people the most. Almost all of my projects are demos, or things that involve watching instead of actively participating. This is the first language I have ever learned to program in, and I consider myself a beginner, though I hope that you accept my nomination of fullmoon as a person on your list. I fully agree with all the people who are on it now!

I vote for stevii, even though he isn't on the list.

For someone who has no prior programming knowledge his projects seem pretty amazing.

I didn't have any prior knowledge either!!!

I never really thought about stevii. He does make pretty good scrollers and he has a cute mascot which happens to be a turtle which I have 2 of.(I was forced to get rid of my turtle No Name (she used to be my brother's turtle and my brother didn't name her so over time her name became no name) so I have only 2 now
