Seriously freaky/random blips

I was making a game in Scratch 1.4 running on Windows 7, saved it, and when I came back to work on it I found a red 'say nothing' block in the middle of my scripts. I have made my own block 'stop saying/thinking', but this is just freaky.  yikes

Re: Seriously freaky/random blips

That's an obsolete block that was removed before Scratch was released that they didn't remove completely. But it's just weird that it would randomly appear like that... were you changing the source code at all?

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Re: Seriously freaky/random blips

"Say Nothing" is an obsolete block, as Hmnwilson noted. It is a strange occurrence that it would randomly appear like that, though.

You say you were changing the source code... What did you change?

Try reinstalling Scratch. If you've tinkered around with the source code, this can happen, or if you've moved the scratch.changes file out of where it should be.

Please try making your own topic next time, rather than posting in somebody else's topic. This will help you get more replies, faster.

I wrote extra code for 'if on edge, teleport', 'reverse: ', 'confirm: ', 'show dialog title: message:', 'move back () costumes', etc and used existing code for 'stop saying/thinking', 'point to x: y:', 'ascii for: ', 'repeat while <>' etc.

I think you might have revived the "say nothing" block.

I'm pretty sure that he couldn't have just done it without knowing it. But then again, it is strange for it to just appear.
