My suggestions for the next version of scratch

Hi here are my suggestions!

Maybe we could save colors to our own custom pallette, so whenever we come on and we need that EXACT color, we can just click, then use it!
Maybe we could also have "Special" sprites, where for animations, we could move joints with one click and drag of the mouse to make smoother animations.
Maybe we could also have a blur tool and a smudge tool!

And so america's economy got chewed up, spit out, then it got kicked. multiple times. THEN it went flying through a window, faceplanted into some concrete, then 10 buses ran over it.  big_smile

95% of teens would cry if they saw the Jonas Brothers at the top of a sky scraper about to jump. If you are in the 5% who would grab some popcorn and then go get a nice seat to watch and start chanting JUMP! JUMP! JUMP! JUMP! then copy and paste this in your sig.

Well, if you need an exact colour that's already on a sprite, you can always use the colour picker to pick something outside of the Scratch Paint area. Just click and drag it outside of the box! It's by far the most useful bug I've ever encountered.

Re: My suggestions for the next version of scratch

I like these! It's just the joint function would be kind of hard to implement.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Interesting suggestions! Would you like to make a mockup project that shows how these new features might look / work? It's always helpful when Scratchers make mockups of their suggestions. There's more about this here:

Re: My suggestions for the next version of scratch

The joint thing is what pivot and stykz are for. Why not just download another program? Blur etc probably won't work because scratch doesn't support good transparency.

In order for that to work, Scratch must support alpha channeling, which it currently does not... btw, I think alpha channeling would be an awesome addition!  big_smile  It's been in my dreams since Scratch 1.0. Alpha channeling really would greatly improve the graphic capabilities of Scratch. ^^

http://i52.tinypic.com/5es7t0.png I know what you're thinking! "Neptune! Get rid of those filthy advertisements and give us back the Zarathustra siggy, you horrible person!" Well, don't worry about it, the Zara siggy will be back soon, new and improved! ^^ Meanwhile, just do what the sig tells you to. >.>
