That's what I think. I think that the only real vampires are just normal, living people who crave blood for some weird reasons that no one knows about.

Well, technically speaking, werewolves and vampires were probably based off of people who had rabies, insanity, mercury poisoning, and just went around biting people and the like.

That's what I read on wiki. It does make sense: back in the Middle Ages people always blamed illnesses on monsters and demons.
