I think that having modem to modem connectivity would be a great idea. For example, each person could have a special character, and could see each other as they are active, or 2 player games could be against your online friend. Another thing would be to have a "User" block that says the names of the other online users viewing the project at the exact same time as you, and if they navigate away their name vanishes. It could also be used to say the number of users on that project, so if there are more than ____ on the project, a different animation appears. I really think that it is a necessity, since one of the core ideas behind Scratch is communication. Why else would there be a way to post projects? It would revolutionize the website, since now an AI opponent becomes a real, living person sitting hundreds of miles away at their computer.

Ah, but that is really hard to do, they'd need to make a lot of reprogramming done, and it is probably far beyond the reaches of being able to making these for free.
But there is netscratch, but so far there is no news about that.
Another thing: if you have one of these for every user, do you really think that more than five people are oging to be going on one project? The answer to that really basically makes the concept useless.

Well when netscratch comes out you can interact with others. Just don't expect any amazing multiplayer games to be made.

I know that in most, maybe one or 2 users will be on. But, there could be a special section for well-made connectivity using projects, right on the front page. There might be 20 or 30 users on those then. I know it would be hard to make, but think of the amazing things that could be done!

Actually Archmage, I was expecting most of the amazing multiplayer games to be from you. You could make scrolling games that have multiple people in them, and I am sure that you could figure it out.

According to what I have read, each user with be given a limited ammout of online variables called shariables.
Not nearly enough to create an MMO or anything of the sort.

Yes, but if you have seen the volleyball game made by Mudkip, based off of your perfect gravity, it would be very fun with 2 people. I did not expect an mmo!

Yeah, you could definitely make a simple 2 player game using these shariables. Still, unless each user receives a ton of shariables don't expect much more than basic 2 player games.

true, but it would still be very interesting!

I think that any one-on-one sports games would be good.
