1.You CAN be banned if you say a sentence like this, OMG "catscratchfever' LOL GUYZ XD
2 Using 'Omg","LOL" and other types of 'text' language in a sentence that has no capital letter, period ect. can get you banned.
After this, the website would become clearer to understand and not full of people that use that.

Although I see why you'd want this, many of the people here are just kids (as this is what the website is for), so you can't have such high expectations.

This is probably too much. Yeah, bad grammar is annoying, but it's part of what most kids are in this day and age, and I don't think you should get banned for it. Maybe they should just call your language arts teacher and make them scold you.
Offline
No, I disagree.
This is going way too far. This is banning probably innocent people who may make good contributions just because they don't type with good grammar and spelling?

I don't think it's reasonable to get banned for using bad grammar. You also have to remember that a lot of people on this site are well under the age of 10 and may not actually be capable of writing in proper grammar conventions. So banning them for that is totally unreasonable.
I agree with just about everybody on this thread - It's going way too far.

Get off the internet if you don't like netspeak
That's like saying "If you don't like [Insert Language], get out [Insert country]"

Yes.
Anyway, I don't see this happening anytime.

Kids should learn to write correctly and nawt lik dis.
But I would disagree as well. For no particular reason I can come up with. I just think doing this would go too far.

OMG "catscratchfever' LOL GUYZ XD

I agree. Spamming should result in an instant ban.
"coolio"
"OMG!"
And those types of comments on projects, too.
Offline
That's not exactly spam, and anyway that's going very far - users are already given warnings and are banned if they persist continuously.
Offline
No, terrible reason to be banned. whats next if this happens? You will be banned for making shooter projects?
Offline
I don't really agree with this idea... Sure, it's sometimes hard to read, but we have to be respectful to all fellow Scratch Members, regardless of how they prefer to type. And I personally don't think that comments such as "lol" and "OMG" are hurting anyone... so why ban people for using them?
Offline
Using certain words such as "OMG" or "lol" do not violate the terms of use because they are:
A.) Not incindiary words, designed to flame or insult,
B.) Not spam, because when used correctly they can be constructive to the disscussion.
Therefore, they are not subject to be evidence for bans.

Sence when can you get banned for that?

Grammer? Its a suggestion, although one that seems to be getting shot down.

I don't think this is enough to get banned for, but I think it is a bad influence for kids to see: LOL dis iz kool. Sometimes I don't even understand it when it gets really bad.

Me neither. I just don't use it much anymore because I am not 7 anymore.
