Re: Lueptueps, computers, and a whole bucketload of failure.

Well, I have right now a beautiful Acer Aspire desktop. And a 2006 iMac. Before that, we had a Linux computer that was rubbish because my dad salvaged it from his workplace. Before that, we had a luxurious (for its time) something computer. It's in the next room, but I'm too lazy to see what it was. It has this cool light on the front - and now that we took away it's monitor, it's of no use except to look at the cool light. Actually, if I recall, it was a Lenovo. Prior to that, we had an HP computer which ran Windows 2000, until we upgraded to XP and it wonked itself out. We still have that computer in our basement. The only reason we stopped using that computer was because my dad got remarried to somebody with the cool-light computer. Anyhow, prior to that computer, we had a Windows 98 computer, which still resides in my room, and is now the only computer which can run my old Sim games. The reason we stopped using that computer was because my dad got divorced. Anyhow, prior to that, we had some Windows 95 computer that I don't remember, because we threw it out before I turned 3. Before that, we had a... wait, I wasn't alive yet. But I know my dad had a primitive computer that he bought in the 70s for a LOT of money, and it was useless.

Re: Lueptueps, computers, and a whole bucketload of failure.

This, except grayish and see through, was my first comp. http://fortunebrainstormtech.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/imac-medres.jpg

Gosh, I loved it. We didn't get internet until about 5 years ago or something, but that was around 8 years old. It doesn't work well anymore, but I liked playing Zoo Tycoon and Reader Rabbit on it when I was younger.

*more may come*

Re: Lueptueps, computers, and a whole bucketload of failure.

My family has two Windows, and I love them!  Windows are simple to use.  However, both of our Windows are really old, so they are pretty slow.  My grandpa gave me an iMac, a Tiger edition, and I use it all the time!  I think that Macs are much more advanced in some ways, but I prefer Windows since they're simpler to use.

I think Windows is sloppy, sometimes hard-to-figure-out, prone to viruses, and you always need to manually install drivers to use hardware, unlike trusty Linux. When I plug anything in, my Ubuntu just immediately goes like, "Ah, here's the driver for this, let's put it to use," and there's no hassle.

'course there are so many more programs available for Windows. That's one disadvantage. But they're all paid. I like navigating my way through the free Ubuntu Software Center.  smile

Reinstall Windows and get a million viruses [i]again[i], or just install Ubuntu and never get a single one. Compleeeeeeeeeeetely free.
