I made a solar oven in Tech Ed. (Engineering)! My partner almost burnt his hand!
I was the only one who didn't steal my design from the web

We made solar ovens at summer camp using a shoebox, a piece of tinfoil, and black construction paper. Then we cooked pizzas.
They were yummeh.

I once made one for my mom for mother's day, to save us money!
It didn't work, but got pretty hot inside! It was original, but was never used.
EDIT: 666th post! It was at 444 about 3 weeks ago! 1,000 is in my sights...

I've made a couple solar ovens. One of them was really good- Unfortunately, I made the base out of plastic and it melted! Oops...
Woah! Did anyone get hurt? I hope not!
No, thankfully. I just made it at home for fun, so there weren't a bunch of kids running around and sticking their fingers in it.

Where did you get the plastic?
It was a container that a cake came in. It worked really well because it was sealed, so the heat came though the transparent top and got stuck (excuse me for my non-technical terms
). I used cardboard and tinfoil for the... gee, I don't know what they're called... fins? sides? You get what a mean- the things that stick out...

Ohh... Must have been pretty hot to melt that kind of plastic
