Comcast! >:-(

They cut all of our TV channels just because we stopped using their phone service.

Re: Comcast! >:-(

This is ludicrous. (No offense, Ludichris1.)

It's like saying this.

FREE PIZZA!

fine print: for 9,000,000 dollars.

Wrong, its because they assume that Americans are stupid so they put the fine print there thinking that stupid Americans wouldn't read it. That is also the reason why they make prices $4.99 or any price with  99 cents at the end.

Also, they aren't trying to be "mean." They are trying to make money.  smile

Yeah, there was one of those commercials showing something to help you in your daily life to make things simpler or easier or something (I'm not going to say what), and they said "Plus, we'll give you a second one for FREE [quiet-voice]if you pay shipping and handling[/quiet-voice], and on the information screen, the product was $20, yet the shipping and handling was $15! So it's not really 'free'. Pretty mean, if you ask me.

This is absurdly hilarious?

Also, you can't do that because that would be false advertising.

Although all of that is true, it's still VERY dishonest to do that. They're just taking advantage of people's stupidness. In life, you should make money by working hard, being honest, and putting good effort - not just taking the easy way out.

Re: Comcast! >:-(

just like insurance companies  yikes
honestly, there was one thing on a tv ad where they were selling a plastic tube, a simple mechanism, and suction cups for $20 + shipping+handling (probably $10)
honestly, how many people would buy this.

I see why you think that this is "mean."
However, it is not being "dishonest" because they are saying whats is going to happen on the ad isn't it?

I do agree with what you saying about making money in life but you should wait till highschool and learn about all the sneaky and sometimes disgusting ways corporations would do just to make money. You could read about all these "sneaky" method by reading publications by muckrakers.

Yes, but they are doing it in a tricky way, which isn't stating it obviously to the customer.
