Half-Life Scratch Game

I'm about to get started on Half-Life Scratch: The Game (title in progress), but I want to know what would be the best angle. A First-Person Shooter would be almost impossible, so that's been ruled out. But I also want some good physics. So I'm making a poll (vote) on the forums. Here are the options:

1 - An arial view of the game:
A different angle from the animation series, you see the top of gordan's head, his shoulders and his arms carrying whatever weapon.

2 - And side scroller;
This is the same angle as the animation series, but with better graphics and physics. The thing is, in order to dodge bullets, you need to change how far away the player is.

I also want to have a good physics engine that is really acurate. A side scroller would need a more advanced engine that an engine for an arial view.

I can't choose!!! Please help!

P.S.

Re: Half-Life Scratch Game

Hey, did you know that there is a flash game based off of that game?  The link is below. I would do somthing like that. That way, you don't need to do scrolling. I think this is a great idea if you pull it off. Good luck and tell me when it is finished!
