Well, I'm listening to my FinalFantasy music when I see a project that really takes my fancy, but there's music in it.
I know I could just stop the music, but I always hum to it and get annoyed when I have to stop humming, I really just enjoy it -_-
Not a very great suggestion, but if there was a volume bar (like YouTube and that) then we could set the volume to low, or high if you wanted to, or not on at all. Just a thought

Hmmmm good idea but not really necessary Imo. You can just press the stop button.

I mean turn down the volume while you're playing the project
Hmmmm yeah, perhaps you're right.

Is a smiley face really necessary at the end of each post?
Anyways, I agree. sometimes the music is really bad, and I want to listen to something else, but I want to keep playing the game, without downloading it.

What OJY321 said; if it's that much of a problem, do the following:
- Download the project
- Create a new variable called Volume, and make it a slider.
- Assuming the stage is what's playing the music, go to the Stage and put this script:
[blocks]
<forever>
Set volume to (Volume)%
[/blocks]

but i don't think that someone would want to go through that much hassle just to turn down the volume. why can't the scratch team just add a slider thing at the bottom of every project, like on youtube, where you can adjust the volume?

That's pretty much what It's like, because otherwise, when you want to do that to SOMEONE ELSE's project (keyword), you can't then. I might start doing this with my projects. Until, of course, they (hopefully) put this plan into action.

Well, that would tune down the sound effects too.
Most projects don't have sound effects played by the Stage, they're in the individual sprites themselves. The volume block only counts for that particular sprite (or the Stage). (I can see many applications for this property.)

Having a volume-control for every project at the bottom of every project would be a great idea!

I took the liberty of designing a whole new Scratch player in Photoshop. The two new buttons in the top right corner are for volume and presentation mode. The red and green buttons simply replace the ugly flag/stop sign.

I really like that idea, having a full-size online presentation mode! perhaps there could be a script viewer online as well.

YES!
Btw, now that I think of it, a volume bar would've been really cool.

But that way you wouldn't be able to hear anything else! What she is talking about is playing the project muted and listening to music at the same time.
