getting a user to type

hey, i was wandering if there is any way in Scratch to get the user to type something.
what i mean is.: maybe there is a box at the bottom of the screen that you have to type a word in to get to the next level. is there any way of doing this without having to do a whole huge script with sprites for every letter?

Re: getting a user to type

I just made a project that allows users to input text for encryption by Caesar cipher.  it uses clicks on a keypad like texting on a mobile phone.  http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/ejmankh/21821
