This is using the function for 1,000,000 that got me within an hour.

It is assuming the rate of change of the rate of change remains constant.

I'll probably be off a little though  big_smile

EDIT I'll give a revised thing soon.

I got within half an hour. I guessed at 1:00 PM and it happened at 1:24 PM.

I could've sworn it was 10:54 that it was uploaded. (I could be lying)

It could have been a time difference. Of course, that wouldn't explain why it was 1/2 an hour different, but if one of you live in Newfoundland...

Re: Calculate the 2,000,000th project Date

I don't even know where to start. I fail at math, yet I get grades around B+ and A-. Why the heck?

I'll agree with demosthenes, just to be safe. XD

Re: Calculate the 2,000,000th project Date

What's the average percentage difference between the months? Then I can work it out.

eg
100 projects on a 10% a month increase

110

then

121

etc

Aw, thanks  smile  Yeah, the odds of me being right on this are incredibly slim, since I just pulled those numbers out of some dark crevice in some corner of my brain. In other words, that was nothing but random...

If I was feeling particularly competitive, I would have put bunches of data into my Data Workshop and cranked out an equation and solved it, but... naw. But if anyone else wants to, please do! (PS: That was not meant to be an ad for my project. Go ahead and use a TI calculator or something if you'd rather)

Coming from an 11 year old, this is pretty good.

I'm older, but still no bragging rights...

Not all of the elders. You didn't fool me! Although, I wouldn't be surprised if you actually did understand that- there are a lot of genius kids on Scratch. Have you seen ahaanomegas's stuff? He's 10 and knows just about as much math as I do and way more physics!

You don't know what that is. I do.  tongue  Let me use it to find out the aswer to this question. (More detailed+ indepth answer later. Just a quick calculation right now). I used Data From Here--> http://stats.scratch.mit.edu/community/usersbytime.html

A rough estimate is about June 02, 2011. More details later.

Apparently you did. I'm afraid I worded that wrong. I knew you meant one elder- I was just teasing.

But regardless, you did spell "apparently" wrong, so does scmb1 own now? Kidding again. You can continue your reign.

Re: Calculate the 2,000,000th project Date

I think that because it took 2 and a half yrs to get 2 1,000,00 i think that it will take 1 &a 1/4 2 get 2 2,000,000 because users will probably double.
