I have thought of a way to put links in projects THAT ARE SAFE
. Here it is:

But how would it work exactly?
You would type the rest of the URL into the block, then when the person clicks on it, they are sent to that project.
I support!
Hmmmm...
Problemo numero one: Then someone could make a project that makes a project pop up to get it on top viewed.
Problemo numero two: What if the computer doesn't have an internet browser?
Odd... the first "Problemo" is a word, but the second on isn't according to spell check...

Problemo number one: Then maybe it wouldn't count towards views?
Promblemo numero two: Every computer comes preinstalled with an internet browser. If it doesn't have an internet connection, then the browser will just open up an fail.

1: Then enough people would have to view that project so that IT would get top viewed.
2: An error message would come up or something.

I support 100%!
This would be great!
Also one for... like... the Scratch Wiki!
Well, maybe you could put a link in the project to a forum post about the Scratch Wiki.

instant virus.
And... How? It's not bad... Plus it just pops up with the save or open thingy.

What happens when you go to the website? Does it just open up a web browser?
Probably.
Also, in response to the instant virus, make it so that it can't lead to a download. Remember, Scratch has 100% control over this world!

Why would you use it though . . . I'd want the ability to draw content from webpages, but that could result in unsafe interactions.

Huh?

Drawing content from webpages would be great. I think fullmoon made a topic which allowed more website interactions instead of just cherry-picked ones like Facebook and Twitter. More of those interactions would mean a lot more connectivity and flexibility in the program.

What about innapropriate projects?
How do you mean?
Using the block to open up a project that has inappropriate content.
I don't support - it could be used with the above reason, it could be used to cheat your way to Top Viewed (as BWOG pointed out), and I don't see any use for the block.

Same. The cloud can be dangerous... and although website interactions might benefit Scratch, I deny this, for the cons outweigh the pros.

Sorry, but I don't support... the possibility of dangerous links is really big in my opinion.

![]()
Really? Even if you can only link to projects on the Scratch website?
I'm sorry, but I don't agree with you - there's no possible way this could be harmful.

Someone might hack the block to make it a dangerous link.
