That's ruining the whole point. Art is a part of Scratch. It's a right we have.

You just be glad this is the Scratch community, and not Newgrounds or something.

(I know Newground has art, but if they didn't, I have heard their not the nicest community.)

There not. But Youtube's the worst.

Re: This is How We Feel.

As the curtain falls upon the stage,
I look at art, my love to wage.
As currents grab blood in their hands
With their strict and unsubtle demands.
As I push them off I start to drown,
With a gurgling, moaning, dying sound.
I scream for help, yet with alas.
The air fills with a blackening gas.
I hope my life will not pass.

Communism stinks. It doesn't work the way it was meant, you have no freedom, and the government owns everything, and takes away information.

Go USA!

My question is this, to all of you people on the animators side:

Why did you join Scratch?

If you answered "because this way, I could share my art", than you should leave. Not really, and I did it to share animations. But I soon took off from there with art.

If you answered "because my friend told my to join, and now I can have fun and talk to my friends", than you should leave.Nope, I was the first one in school to hear of it.  tongue

If you answered "because I enjoy annoying others", than you seriously should leave. .......Heh heh.

If you answered "to gain some experience in programming", than you're in the right place. Naw.

If you answered "to share my creativity and knowledge to make interactive works of art", than you're in the right place. Interactive......heck no.

If you answered "to collaborate with others on projects, having fun", than you're in the right place. Maso menos.

Do you get what I'm saying?Yeah, sah, but I don't agree completely.

I'm sorry. But that really just makes me sad. You've really hurt my feelings. You've been stupid and mean before - but this is just to another level.

Scratch wasn't designed just to show off art and stuff. If you're just staying here because you don't want to leave friends, than that's just wrong. Because that's not what Scratch is for. And your answer to the 3rd question - really, WHAT THE ----!? For the fourth and fifth one, that's what many people are trying to do. In case you haven't found out, there's not many other websites on the internet that are helpful so young kids can collaborate with 21st century learning. And Scratch was designed for interactive art and projects - what don't you get? And so as for collaborations; just see this Scratch Team Block post.

Also, please watch the video at the top of this page. As Natalie Tusk, a Scratch Team member says herself, "there's not many accessible tools to let for young people to make interactive software", and Mitchel Resnick, the creator of Scratch, says himself, "to create new projects, share them with their friends around the world, and learn from one another in the process" - but apparently that's not your focus. That's what I want to do - I want to learn in a fun way, so after I go to college I can have a fun job as some type of video game designer, and this is one of the steps. But seeing animations all the time isn't going to help - but seeing new programming formulas will.

I can't blame artists for doing what they like, but honestly, Scratch in general is just a bad place to post art. If you're going to put effort into a piece of art, you don't want to post it on Scratch, because:

• There's a 480*360 limit, so anything larger than that gets scaled down and ends up looking terrible. Actually, the program in general isn't good for art.

• Websites like deviantart have many experienced artists who can give you useful feedback on how to improve your art. Scratch... doesn't.

• There's a reason for all those blocks to be there. And no, "when green flag clicked, play sound (insert overplayed song)" doesn't count.

• You'll get insulted. A lot.

That being said, if artists/animators got together with programmers, we could get some amazing projects...

I have to say, that's true. That's why I don't post art. But, as you said, we can't blame them for doing what they like.

LIES! PURE LIES! What about this!?!?!?

Plus, you post a lot of projects that are just PLAIN UN-INTERACTIVE MUSIC, which IMO, is just as bad.

*Yup, but whatever. We do it, and I don't believe it's wrong.
*Not really. There are some really good artists here. Plus, dA isn't really an appropriate website and most famous artists on dA never pay attention to you.
* OMG BLOCKSSS I NEED TO USE THEM OR I'MAA BD PPLZ
*That's why I'm doing this, jerk. To stop it. I won't give up.

Let's see what points Tonkeh-Gal has made:
(These are a rewrite of what she said)
*Not the point
*Those cats look awesome, how they make them look like a 3 year olds drawing, at least the famous people here pay attention to my pointless posts
*Blocks? Oh come on, that's just an add-on to de epic paint program
*I won't give up! Now stop insulting me!!!
