A though just struck me.

www.scratch.mit.edu/art

How about that 'eh? It won't be "spammed" because it is for art.

Edit: For many scratchers art on scratch seems to be a "problem" I personally have no problem with it and I think that some art is actually quite cool.

But if it is neccessary, the art might have to be seperated.

Nah - that's still part of the Scratch website. How about http://art.mit.edu/big_smile

Either way, it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Re: This is How We Feel.

Honestly, the artist came because they couldn't share on other sites because of age restrictions. But I doubt the Scratch Team wants to make an entire other website for sharing art.

No it's not annoying, they don't even get on the front page as far as I know anymore. Therefore they're easily ignored.

And regardless of "no offense", I WILL NOT tolerate any "doody's projects are bad" rants anymore.

Re: This is How We Feel.

Once again:

Have you seen the programmers story:

You go on Scratch, you've worked for weeks to months on your best game yet. You've perfected the scrolling, gravity, sensing and everything. This project is completely glitchless. You upload it, expecting the front page. How could it not get on the front page? Your advertising in your signature, you have some friends, and overall, it's a great project. But to your dismay, as you log on Scratch the next day, there's a poorly animated project of cat's arguing about something that was in fact, "Just a stupid boulder." You look at the comments, they like this stuff??? WHy aren't they praising my project, all I've been receiving is stuff saying things like, "The art needs to be better."

And from your point of view, all you get is hate mail. Did you see the hundreds of other good comments you didn't deserve.

Excuse me? Just because we're not great programmers, we don't deserve good comments?

Try sumopaint.com, it's an art program, an art sharing sit, and doesn't have age restrictions like dA.

I'm sorta neutral in this fight, yet, I'm still leaning towards the programmers side. Art can be cool and awesome to look at, but really wasn't that made for deviantART(or whatever it's called)? I mean really. There were websites actually MADE for art, unlike Scratch. As a quote I heard in the past, "it's not 'Scratch: Imagine, DRAW, Share'." Then there's the whole RPing problem. I'm trying to stop RPing in the galleries, but it's so fun! X3 But anyway, yeah, I'll eventually stop RPing and my RP buddies will be asking two weeks later why I haven't been RPing lately. Then I'll be on the programmer side completely! ^^

Is that a reason to rejoice?

Not really. I just really like making games, more then all that other stuff.

Hay everyone. Today I'm going to show how to program an Art project. Because, really, why not upload it to a programming site instead of where it belongs? With it, we can  become popular on a website. Now, let's get started.

Look at this:

(Sorry if a kind of scratcher isn't in there)

That is what scratch should be like. Diverse. We don't want anything dominating the other.

Heres my plan again:

MY PLAN:

Gamers Do This:

1. If you see a 'pointless' art project, don't view it if you don't want it top viewed!

2. Look at games, if that is what you want to see.

3. Don't bother artists!

4. Let scratch be diverse   smile

5. Remember that not everyone is as good a programmer as you.

6. Make games and have fun with it.

Artists Do This:

1. Don't let the gamers get on your nerves.

2. Do what you want on scratch, even if its little programming.

3. Don't bother gamers!

4. Let scratch be diverse  smile

5. Make art and have fun with it.

Everyone Else Do This:

1. Make your own kind of project and have fun with it.

2. Ignore the drama and have fun.

3. Keep scratch diverse and happy.

And remember guys, no discriminating other kinds of scratchers.

It does.

And I know just the place for it: http://www.deviantart.com/

Now leave Scratch to be what it was meant to be.

I sort of agree.  We do need projects that are actually animations and games, but I don't see anything wrong with a little bit of art projects.

No, it just says art. Can you read?

Art is a broad category, which includes both interactive art and art alone.

I don't think we need more animations and games. Let the Scratchers make projects they like, even if it's art.

Re: This is How We Feel.

~ WE THE LOYAL ~

imagine • program • share.
they don't seem to care.

imagine • program • share.
where is art in there?

they are invading our community!
with projects minus interactivity!

I offer the omnicollab, the perfect mix!

They insist upon 40 different projects.

lets string that into an animation!

I wait ten minutes for some song to load, to see a cat on a pogo-stick.
This disappoints me...

I Say, don't you belong on deviantart?
They say, we like this programming website better.

Half don't even bother posting their work in the forums.
Half don't know it exists!

spam • spam • spam.
shame • shame • shame.

I say, you are wanted on deviantart! Leave us in peace!
To be what we were made to be!

They say, no, we MUST use the programming website!

spam • spam • spam.
shame • shame • shame.

it. is. sad.
watching my loyal friends go,

driven out by this menace.

spam • spam • spam.
shame • shame • shame.

One of the offending, has started "rebellion".
rebellion, against, Scratch.

with only visible goal to be,

to defy what this was meant to be:

Scratch.

...imagine, program, share.

Why do they trash us so?'
Why do we tolerate it?
Why do they refuse to cooperate?
Why do we let them?

My loyal friends, if this never ends, we will all have to go.

(I know Newground has art, but if they didn't, I have heard their not the nicest community.)
