Downloading Scratch on my cousins mac computer!

Dear, Scratch Team

I am having trouble downloading scratch on my cousins mac computer!

I think this is something where I should ask the computer people but it keeps on showing up as a txt folder.  How do I switch it to an application?

Thanks

PS. Whenever I try it just puts ".txt" after the name.

Hmmm... maybe you could try renaming the file with .exe on the end instead of .txt?

Wait - so it always switches to .txt when you rename it?  hmm

Try to download it here. Does it work?

I think Mac doesn't use '.exe' but '.dmg'.

For Macintosh computers, .dmg is the correct application extension. Make sure that you have at least OS X 10.4, if you want to download Scratch 1.4. If you have an older version please download either Scratch 1.3.1 or Scratch 1.2. It should work then.

Link to download Scratch 1.3.1, and 1.2:

Download one version, and make sure that your computer is compatible to that version.

NONONO. You fail(no offense). Did you already open the Disk Image Mount(.dmg)? If you didn't, rename the .txt to .dmg. If you already did, name the .txt in the mounted files with a .app.

Why did I even name myself "ScratchDude101?" I'm Cronos Dage.

Re: Downloading Scratch on my cousins mac computer!

Are you trying to move Scratch from computers? Because that won't work.

On Linux it's also an excecutable text file, like .exe.

Wait a sec, isn't it just a .App file? Look for a Scratch head with "Scratch" as a label. You may be editing a README or something.
