Help needed plz

I'm almost done with a 0S1S Notepad, but Scratch keeps freezing up when I try to put even one block in.

Script:

File:
http://thepckid.oos.cc/web/0S1S Notepad.sb

EDIT: The only reason that I posted the script was that Scratch can crash when viewing the project.

Re: Help needed plz

Whoa. But what's with the blocks that aren't attached to anything?

Re: Help needed plz

WHOOOAAA, that is one long script.

The best way to fix this is by dividing into different scripts with broadcasts and variable settings and that stuff. I made a really long script once, so my dad taught me how to break it up, so I did, and it worked much better.

I'm trying to make it 0S1S. Also, Scratch freezes up when I break up the script. I'm outta luck.

Hmm...well, I downloaded it and it didn't freeze up Scratch at all.

Re: Help needed plz

See, the reason for this is because Scratch is a consistently slow program. It happens with me all the time: scripts of about 1/4 that length freeze up my computer when I add to them. Try building your scripts outside of that script, then add them in and play a game while it loads or something. It's just that Scratch is SO SSSSLLLOOOOWWW.

Re: Help needed plz

Build your script in bits and assemble it later...?

Re: Help needed plz

Hmmm... This is weird cuz I've never really had that problem with exceptionally long scripts... is there a shorter way to write it?

Re: Help needed plz

I find it's faster if I assemble scripts in different sprites. Maybe you could try creating lots of sprites and make pieces of the scripts in each. Then combine the scripts and delete the sprites.

Re: Help needed plz

Try shortening the script, or splitting it in bits.

I know it is 1S1S, but  its the only way to prevent lag i know.

Re: Help needed plz

It probably isn't freezing, you just need to wait for it to catch up with itself.

Indeed - I was thinking just that: how can something be 0s0s? Otherwise it's just, say, a drawing - no moving parts, nothing else.
