What's the most advanced script you've ever written?

I'm interested to see what comes up.

The most advanced script I've ever written was the script for the log-in/log-off system in Cobra.

Yes, it's blurred so you can't read it, but you get the idea.

The script for the guy in LINE may be the longest one I've ever seen... Anybody ever seen anything longer?

Re: What's the most advanced script you've ever written?

I could have made that with a much smaller script.

Either this... http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/9474/mdead.gif
this script for this... http://spamtheweb.com/ul/upload/240410/74888_SH_05.php

The thing is, long and advanced are different. A bunch of if else repeatedly isn't advanced.

Re: What's the most advanced script you've ever written?

yeah um you guys don't know much about script compression...

this script was used in shootout which failed in general, but the level editor was fairly good

this codes the entire level editor I believe, the lists are for spawning, the majority of the code is for figuring out if a spawn is placed on top a spawn point then it doesn't add another spawn point on top of it and if a regular tile is placed over a spawn point the spawn point's coordinates are deleted, other stuff is on rotating tiles and changing costumes

hold ctrl and move mousewheel to zoom in

Re: What's the most advanced script you've ever written?

I think the point needs to be made that "advanced" may not necessarily mean "long".  It might be interesting to hear what everybody thinks of when they think of something as "advanced".  I think of it as doing some kind of complex task - or using a tricky technique of some sort  smile

08jackt wrote:

I believe 08jackt is making the point here, somewhat bluntly maybe, that a shorter script is often a better script.  This is often true as a shorter script might run faster or be easier to make changes to.  But there are times when a longer script might actually be preferable.  I've gotten performance improvements, for instance, by eliminating scripts that were run by a broadcast and moving all the blocks directly into the calling script.  It makes for a very large and hard-to-read script though.

Re: What's the most advanced script you've ever written?

Probably this one, from MAZE 2... it's also the longest that I've written... (it was based on MAZE, so it just needed added bulldogs (which took a while to figure out)... I finished it just as the new year came in... I was bored, waiting for the UK fireworks to start  tongue )

http://i40.tinypic.com/35k0o6v.gif

Aww... the script went all pixelated  sad

Looking back on it, there are ways I could improve it... I appeared to have something against the "if_else" block  lol  Oh, well. I'll remake it... some day a long way in the future  tongue

I like large images!

I was reading a webcomic the other day and there was a bonus strip, which was actually a longer version of one of the strips, and it was almost 10,000 pixels high, and it took me at least 5 minutes to read.

Wow big image.

That image is 2297 x 6507 pixels. It's only about 300kB and it is the biggest image I've ever made.

I haven't really written anything complicated, but it sometimes gets a bit long, especially with scratch scripts.

Perhaps this one (is fully functional!):

http://i40.tinypic.com/elbiw0.gif

Oh wait, I may have a longer one.  Lemme check.

EDIT:  Oooops, this is advanced scripts.  Lemme find an advanced one.
DOUBLE EDIT:  Actually, this one is still pretty advanced...

Re: What's the most advanced script you've ever written?

The longest script I've ever made is from my (terrible) Super Smash Bros. demo from 2007:

http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/6011/60741176.png
(click for full size)

It's a long script, but there's nothing really advanced about it.  tongue

Re: What's the most advanced script you've ever written?

The AI script in Scratch Kart Demo:

http://i364.photobucket.com/albums/oo85/RHY3756547/Urm.gif
Full Size

Unfortunately scratch didn't have a quick calculating "(num) ^ (num)" block so you get the mess that is currently scratch kart demo. Works perfectly when FPS is 40.

Well, that's my most advanced *released* script I think...
