downloading
whenever i try to download something, scratch comes up and tells me that its a bad header. why?

Maybe your browser is trying to download them in text mode? I don't know how to change it, but some browsers have their download mode set to binary mode. The difference between text and binary mode is that text mode inserts unwanted stuff in the file while binary doesn't.
