I've been teaching about a month of Python to my 10th graders for the last 3 years, with less than great results. I'm seriously thinking about moving to Scratch, as a better way to pick up the concepts of programming without getting stuck on the syntax. At the same time, Scratch is obviously only a stepping stone towards some other language -- Python, Java, whatever. I would think it might be really helpful if Scratch projects could be exported in a pseudo code representation, as a way to prepare people for what lies ahead -- a way to "look under the hood" without being overwhelmed. It would be especially neat if the pseudo code could be imported as well -- although then I guess it wouldn't be pseudocode anymore. I gathered from another post that this was once before considered and rejected, but it still seems like it would be useful.
Thanks,
Andy
