I entered Miscellaneous, and there were rubbish spam threads, threads saying to jump out a window, agh - deleting Miscellaneous would help so much more.

I nearly exploded with frustration. >_>

Re: Changes to the Scratch Forums

Hi,

As you probably already noticed, the Scratch Forums home page is getting quite filled up. There are lots of different forums and it can be a really tough job to find your way through all of them  big_smile

We mods and admins have been discussing a bit, and here are some changes we were thinking about. Please tell us what you think about them, but please also share *why* you like or dislike them...

Remove the Archived Forums section. It's taking up quite some space, and I personally think they aren't read anymore. They might still contains some valuable information, so maybe we could just hide them by default.

Only show the 'language' forum of your language. We could make it work with the language used on the main site (requires a lot of work and has disadvantages for multilingual people). Or maybe you'll have to request permission for your language forum. Or, maybe we won't do this at all  hmm

Hide the forum statistics box. That's the one that has all online users in it... We have the feeling that it helps you with chatting  smile  And it takes up space. Forums are made for a slower form of discussion, and the Scratch forums have been suffering from a lot of chat messages... There are other tools available for that.

Share you thoughts...

1. Good idea - i never read the archived forums.
2. Good idea, but you should don't hide "Translating Scratch" and "Other Languages".
3. Not a good idea.

And it should be able to go on a page named "Forum settings" where i can change which forums shall be hide/show and the adjustment of the forums' order.

Re: Changes to the Scratch Forums

1. Yes.
2. No, I use the site in English (dunno why) but I post in the Spanish section sometimes.
3. Not necessary, I think. Most forums show their online users, and no problems are caused.

Re: Changes to the Scratch Forums

I think that the user list is useful, as I know when to make announcements to Infinfish, or if it's a good time to advertise games or start threads.
