Shorthand writing is a form of writing that uses symbols. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shorthand ). This has nothing to do with symbols, but it has the same purpose. To make things go faster. Make a game without graphics or sound. Then, post it. After a while, people will start commenting. Ask them if they want to improve on the game. Soon enough, a collaboration will be formed. Eventually, a project from your collab will probably get on the front page. A good example of a shorthand game is my Mario game ( http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/waveOSBeta/945847 ). 2 people are currently working on new levels. People like a simple game that will actually run on their browsers.
Feedback on this method would be appreciated.

this actually seems like it will work well. I think archmage's method is better, but this method is all about making a base and adding graphics after. throwing in a colab works too.

I'm actually gonna learn shorthand. I've been thinking about it for quite some time. It will be awesome! Then no one will copy off my notes in class.
