Well, since Exterminate completely failed and now I can't make an FPS, I'm making a Scroll-X Scroll-Y platformer called 8-Bit SpiderComp.
You play as this little computer that has eight legs (I had to draw the sprite pixel-by-pixel, so I spent a lot of time on it) and he just goes on an adventure. No story really.
And the graphics are mediocre too, but to me, that doesn't matter. What really matters is good gameplay.
It will have 3 worlds with 4 levels each, and a boss in every world. The number of levels in each world is still pending.
Here are screenshots of the game that I have.
Just at the bottom
Now we're really in action
Eager to get to the next level? Go through that door.
Whoa. That blade does not look friendly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Progress:
[4-15-10] Just finished doing scrolling scripts (and making the sprite).
[4-16-10] Changed character colors and finished Level 2.
[4-17-10] Starting World 1 Boss level.
[4-20-10] STILL on Boss Level (It's a lot of work)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This game really doesn't have a story, it's just your average scroller that looks like it was built for the NES with extremely bad graphics.
Release Date: Pending
I'll post more screenshots of the game later, as I finish levels and stuff.

Reread that and see why I'm confused.
Banana means, right now he has decided(temporarily) to have 4 levels on each world. However, it isn't official yet.

The character sprite has too many colors for 8-bit, but I'm just extremely picky about sprites so it doesn't really matter.
Everything else sounds great!

If you really wanted 8bit, you would have to draw each rotation of the blade sprite. And the character would have less colors. If you're going for that style, how about making the graphics interlaced like LINE, SLIME maze, etc?

Well, actually it isn't meant to be ALL 8-bit, just the character. Besides, since I lost data of level 2 I restarted it, so there might not be any blades at all (probably in World 2).
Also, I was having problems with the amount of colors, so that will be reduced, so the SpiderComp will look different in the game than in the screenshots.
I might delete all screenshots and add new ones. And probably release a public beta of levels 1 and 2.
