Sure.

You could make a " (( sound frequency )) block.

Re: Panther development thread

well it's like the loudness block, but rather than reporting the volume, it would report pitch, you'd be able to recognise sounds or notes with it.

Re: Panther development thread

Cool. We need sound loudness. It would report the loudness of the song/music that's playing IN the project.

Re: Panther development thread

frequency is the number of vibrations within a given time period, Pitch is the property of sound that varies with variation in the frequency of vibration. therefore I think pitch is the correct name, though it's unit of measurment it the same as frequence, Hz (oscillations per second). so different notes are at different occilations for example middle C is 440 HZ

it could even be used in a singalong style project where it check to see how close your voice is to the correct note

Re: Panther development thread

no idea. I looked it up but couldn't see how. I assume it is because Panther/scratch can record sound, so it's picking up pitch and volume there

BUUUTTT... You would have to record every note in the song. I was going to make a:

'Yankovic Idol' game where you sing Weird Al songs...

Re: Panther development thread

on the topic of Panther seals, if there was a way of telling that there was no use of the I/O blocks or custom blocks, there would be no computer risk so it could set to green automatically?

IDEA:

Clone this sprite and name the clone [______]

So you could identify it in the program.

Re: Panther development thread

How does "set sprite name to" know that it's naming the clone?

Re: Panther development thread

PantherOnline's newsreader has officially managed to present his first report. He will (a gobo btw) eventually be able to encorperate date, time and other variables into his report. the only reason he currently can't is that every time I try and save a project thata has USED a script with at date/time block, it says save failed, unknown class time. so that's big glitch. I tried getting him to read GMT off a website instead, but all the times on the webpages I saw used a script to get the time, so the read block couldn't find it.

Re: Panther development thread

random facts:
My survey results state:
• there is an 86% chance that eveyone working on Panther is male.
•at 17, there is a 61% chance I am the oldest person working on Scratch
• a 25% chance none of us are too keen on remix projects
• a 47% chance we all like game projects best of the main types (I would bet simulation though)
• and anyone reading this is most likely (64%) to play a string instrument, including piano.

idk, I'm bored
