also, some kind of second chance system? if a person releases a deliberately harmful project, then after a period of time, if you have good behaviour or are very helpful through that time, the brown seal is removed, but we keep a record of the fact they had that seal and if a problem of any sort occurs again they are either banned or get a Black seal or somthing ominous like that.

Can we make a vote on which seals to use?
Mine - more simpler as there are less seals and easier to recognise therfore.
OR
Seps?

What about achivement rossets aswell? like, this User has released 10 good projects which have been granted the Green Project Seal
And then another at 25 and again at 50 (If we ever get that many.)
Can you think of anymore?

I like them, maybe have some grey lines on the black one to retain the sense of 3dness and the rainbow one hurts my eyes, either have a slow, soft cycle of colours, or have a rainbow pattern on it.
Ok, ill get to work on that.

Achievents would be good.
I present the Panther devs with a lifetime achievement award for thinking up these awards!

good idea, but we don't want too many images clogging up the downoad page. we should talk to nXIII about getting projects released with the author's name, and perhaps the author seals could be next to or in the corner of their picture.

I like sperry's idea with 4 colours for authors and projects, though I think authors should be able to win trust seals that are blue or rainbow.
I've got more than 4:
Red
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue (for devs/mods)
Purple (newbie/untested)
And the rainbow can be a achievement for dedication to Panther

it's simpler if we have shades between red and green to indicate trustworthiness because people are usesed to red as bad a green as good, so red, orange yellow and green makes sense. then if blue and/or rainbow are shown it indicates a high status and brown would be muddy and untrustworthy... we could even have stains and little rips on the brown one
I wonder What nXIII will say about this when he wakes up... and MathWizz
I'm off for about half an hour, good thing I have a pop counter
EDIT, oh yes, newbies need a colour too.
if projects are tied to their authors, we might be able to get a html script to calculate what colour seal an author has.

I might work on some HTML script. I know quite a bit of it.

Im not sure... what about purple for user devotion/dedication, I might go making a rainbow coloured rosett once im done with the rainbow cycling one. Its taking a while, this thing is going to be big though. I might have to re-start with less frames.

here's a scratch-done demonstration of the kind of script the site could use to determine a user's seal:

Two things, shouldn't the bit with the newbie testing be < not > ? Plus what if the person if trusted and devoted, or is that just not possible?

it was only an example, I think that even a newbie should be able to get a brown, else a new user has two weeks/10 projects to submit dangerous things, other people completely oblivious.
Have it repeat the ammount of rosetts that someone can get, and if the person already has that... wait ill just go make it.

Ok, the script for handing out seals, It needs a partner script though for asigning them to the users list. thi one is only for checking if it is to be shown.

.... ok, it was only an example and it would have been written in html anyway.
why repeat 9?
Actually, I think it'll have to be written in java. HTML is only for displaying on the webpage, not working things out
