I know there are some of you Scratchers out there are also members of the deviantART community. Well, some of us Scratchers got together and formed a group for Scratchers on deviantART!
Anyway, the group is holding a contest, and the topic is Scratch OCs! deviantARTists, it's time to call upon your artistic skill - feature your Scratch original characters, avatar designs, and unusual personas and show us what makes this original character unique and interesting (see here for more details).
If you deviantARTists haven't joined the club yet, join now so you can enter to win some special prizes! If you have joined already, that's awesome, we hope you're entering and look forward to seeing those deviations!

Original characters. I suppose Tokis and Anthros here are Scratch OCs.

Maybe if you'd look at the blog post like I did to figure out what it means...
Deviantart is blocked on my school network

There should be an option on the main group page (see first post) that will allow you to join the group. Likewise, you can just give your dA username here and we can send an invite to join the group.

My Deviantart account still isn't working. I would ask my mom for advice, but I kind of joined at age 11 instead of 13, so she would probably get mad if she found out.

Hmm...By Scratch OCs - Anthros(though not limited to having one just on scratch) etc right? And do other OCs that you also use in other places count?

More like mascots. Like the FloatingMagicTree, or Maki.

You can send in any character you made for Scratch. Your sig character is fine.

I noticed you have two characters in your avatar. Any one of those will be fine.

It says you commented on the club blog four hours ago. Is it working now?
Although, I really would advise not going on dA - there's a reason why the age policy is implemented.

I know, but it's hard to quit a website you're so used to going on. And the website was only working because I went on a different account than my own. My parent's.

Ah, it's not working again.
Anyways, I can still work on it. XD

I hope it's OK to have shared accounts, I quickly looked at the ToS...My sis's email is on there, and we share.

And thanks! When is the due date for the contest?

I would certainly hope none of this is contributing to the art spam on Scratch...

I've seen multiple shared accounts on dA so I think it's okay. If you and your sister are both submitting an entry, just make sure you denote your entries cleary so I can tell which entry belongs to whom.
Deadline is May 4. Submit it to the groups contest folder when you're done.

Perhaps it will do the opposite. Originally, if a Scratcher wanted to show off their art to other Scratchers, they would post online to the Scratch website because there was no way to really share it with other Scratchers on dA (unless, of course, they were friends will all Scratchers who had dA accounts) - having the club makes it easier to share because everyone is connected.
Keep in mind that Scratch is a way for art and programming to come together. I believe that if art is uploaded to Scratch with the intent for other Scratchers to remix it and use it in their projects, it still contributes to the idea of combining art and programming together.
