Re: Panther development thread

I would like to help with panther. I could possibly do some of the graphics?

Look at my work at sackettgraphicsolutions.com.

Give me a reason why you SHOULD be on the team, and I will consider it.

Because I enjoy hacking Scratch (do it all the time when I can) and would like to help out a group. Also, I am good at advertising and could help make Panther popular - when you are ready.
Also, I'd like to see the coding of an advanced Scratch, and I would give you credit for things which I feel MUST be in Itch.

Oh no........... I'm sorry.  hmm
Do you want help? I'm working on an actually decent (yay) example project, a TD game that you can thank cloning for, but I can help you as well.

Hm... not sure. I downloaded Itch and wondered what 1.0 was... there was ONE NEW BLOCK in Itch AND NO OTHER CHANGES

True.

But, I've been updating Itch since then, just not publishing it.

The joke pack is out, and it's billyedward's idea. That was so funny, I pulled that trick on my friend.

I am working on a project that lets you clone sprites and attach them to other sprites. Note: I did not upload this.

Re: Panther development thread

Moring everyone!

I see we have some requests for joining, but, IMO I think that if we accept too many members we'll get crowded and nobody will know what they are and not doing. Besides, we've allready got 7 members. Sorry to those who asked, it's not that I don't like you, it's just as I stated above.

@sparks:
Your ideas yesterday have inspired me to write a programming language for Panther, Panther Code (AKA: PC)

Re: Panther development thread

morining, I agree, We have almost too many people already working on this project. any more will be very difficult to organise. I think we should officially stop accepting people as we really do have all the necessary aspects covered.

As for somelia's offer of advertising, I feel that I've been doing my best to provide that, with the site, advertising on my other sites, creating a wiki etc. I will also be releasing normal scratch projects as advertising on the scratch site once Panther is released to grab attention.

I had a look at itch, and yes, there are very few changes, so the supposesed rivalry isn't going to be a big one. I would like to point out in this post to anyone reading that Panther IS still open-source and we hope that people can learn things from Panther and that it helps increase the complexity of their programming. In no way are we trying to rival any other spinoffs, merely hoping people likw what we've done.

finally, I has a look at the graphics, it seems to be a collection of GIMP and screenshots from some sort of lego game. I found the graphics of relatively good quality and look forward to seeing them out there. But nXIII and girwaffles (where on earth is s/he?) are both adept in graphic design so that field is also covered.

That's my opinion about new members now, I think we're as big as you can sanely get when talking to people around the globe, I'm already staying up till 11-12 pm so I can talk to people.

Re: Panther development thread

oh, I just saw your message Sperry, that sounds great, if we keeep each other updated on the language and the project, we can make sure the project reads the language ok.

what does "!" do?

Re: Panther development thread

has anyone looked at the poll lately?
1st) mesh functionality
2nd)Advanced pen tools
3rd)EXE project sharing
other:
File system
server actions
activate turbo speed, paint new costume
BYOB support (ask jens!)
Variable Saving
higher levels of list flexibility... especially show/hide lists and letter cases

Oh, thanks!

"!" is factorial.

6! would be 1x2x3x4x5x6. You get the point, yeah?

Re: Panther development thread

oh, I see!
after about 10! it would probably be useful because you'd just have such a long line of blocks.

Will 1.1 become 1.0 when we release it?
