I want to know when netscratch will come out because you can make shairables, that means you can chat with ther people online on a project so when will it come out????

I think that andres said that his current priority is translating scratch to different languages. So don't expect it to come out at least until scratch is translated in to other languages.

I also don't really think that netscratch will be a very good idea. Think of it this way:
a) it could promote unhealthy internet chatrooms which could result in swearing, etc.
b) if everybody on Scratch makes one netscratch projectm then there'll be 100,000 netscratch projects. If you can chat with other people, theres probably not going to be that many people on one project. So chatting would, in the end, be pretty much useless.

On the other hand, having netscratch for high-scores and stuff would be a great idea! I'm looking forward to that aspect of it!

Ok, from the documentation I have seen on netscratch each user will be given 3 online number variables. I don't see how a person could make a chatroom with 3 number variables.

As for your second point, I don't see how an excess of netscratch projects could be a bad thing.

Well, say you made a chatroom. Pretty much everybody on Scratch would probably make a chatroom. Which basically makes the whole point of live chatting... useless because everybody else made a chatroom. And seeing as there're only about 20-25 people on Scratch at a time, then havin 100,000 chatrooms would really defeat the purpose: what are the chances they'd be on the same chatroom?

The point I was trying to make is that it would be very difficult to make chat rooms with 3 number variables. Chatrooms are usually made with string variables so making one with only 3 number variables would be very difficult. I think it will be used more for highscores and drawing boards. If any inappropriate stuff comes out of a project there is always the flag button.

So does anyone really know when it will be out? I really would like to know myself. I think all aspects of it will be interesting. The part where you can actually chat with people as a character in a game is awesome! And the highscore feature will rock too. If anyone knows when it will come out, please tell me. I really want to start programing on netscratch.

Well thanks for telling me. I still am excited for it. It will be revolutionary for scratch. I suppose they have to convert it into different language and fix a few things, understandable.

I have to agree with coolstuff about the pricing part. It just doesn't make sense without a price.
