It took me a while to learn how to use the forums, too. Forums are basically for discussing topics online. In this case, you discuss things that have to do with Scratch, or if you put something in the Miscellaneous category, it can be anything at all! To write a response to someone else's post, you can go to the bottom of the thread, and click on "new post". There's a lot more about forums I could explain, so just give me some basic questions, and I'll try to answer them.

Other Scratchers have solved lots of problems I've had with learning Scratch and making projects.
Example: it was hard to learn what Variables were, so I posted a question in "All About Scratch" and got lots of helpful answers.
You can ask very specific questions, too. Like how to use particular commands, how to make a scrolling background, where to find music and sprites that are free of copyright...it's practically endless.
You could post a question in All About Scratch: "How do I make an image under my topic?"
Generally you'll get the best responses if you make your question very clear and specific. (If you post "A sprite doesn't respond to a variable" you'd probably get responses from experts on variables. If you just posted, "It won't work!" then some people might skip it.)
Good luck with the Forums....they're TERRIFIC!! :-)

Once you get used to them, forums aren't that hard to figure out. Since you understand how to post and reply to topics, you should have no other problems.
Forums are basically used to just talk about things. On these forums most of it will be about Scratch, but in the Miscellaneous section you can talk about almost anything.
The forums use a special code called "BBcode", which is really easy to learn. Basically, you type a few extra characters and they'll do something to the text between them.
For example, you can type [u] and [/u] and the text between it will be underlined. You can see everything BBcode can do (including putting images into your posts) by clicking the link underneath the reply box that says "BBcode: on".
Also, remember you can edit or delete your own posts by clicking the links underneath any of your own posts.
Try it out, you'll get it in no time!

It's great that you are learning new things...but you are totally making a mess out of this topic. Please do your experimenting on your own topic and then delete it when you are done. Thanks!
