Pronunciation Analysing-comparing for ESL students

Hi

My EsL students type the stories and record the speech in two languages  when making games with Scratch, Squeak Etoy and Powerpoint. They would benefit from a pronunciation analysing - comparing software that I use myself for learning other languages.  Is there any way to bring it into Scratch or Squeak Etoy?  Is there any open source software that I could use?

Thanks

Re: Pronunciation Analysing-comparing for ESL students

Hi Krystof, it's great to know you're using Scratch in the context of ESL.

I think pronunciation analysis might beyond the core of the Scratch functionalities but perhaps once we release the source code (later this year) someone could implement it. I found this piece of software that you might find useful: http://www.fon.hum.uva.nl/praat/

We would love to see some of your student's projects on this website!

Scratch on!
