Center of Gravity Shifting?

It has come to my attention I read several news articles, that due to the fact that Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter, and the moon all line up with the earth, the center of gravity will shift for an instant before the planets shift to offset this effect. If you jump into the air at 8:35 PM Eastern Time you will experience a sense of weightlessness before falling back down. I won't be able to do it, so PLEASE tell me if this works I'm desperate to hear that some people floated, how epic would that be  big_smile

EDIT: Sorry  sad  Got the time wrong 8:35 not 8:31

EDITEDIT:
Look below again I failed even harder 8:45

Re: Center of Gravity Shifting?

Please reply!
I'm on a plane back from Washington D.C. using wi-fi, so I can't really jump in the air on a plane . . .

I quote from BBC radio this morning.

The British astronomer Patrick Moore announced on BBC Radio 2 that at 8:45 PM a once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event was going to occur that listeners could experience in their very own homes. The planet Pluto would pass behind Jupiter, and the moon and Saturn would fall in line as well. This will temporarily cause a gravitational alignment that will counteract and lessen the Earth's own gravity.

Moore told his listeners that if they jumped in the air at the exact moment that this planetary alignment occurred, they would experience a strange floating sensation.

Re: Center of Gravity Shifting?

I knew this wouldn't work. Gravity depends on distance majorly. Seeing as we are about 6000 Km from the center of earth, and about 10000 (I really have no idea) from mars or something, it just makes such a small difference in comparision. Especially since you square the distances, resulting in even bigger differences.
