Re: The Pokémon Center: Tournaments, Trades, and Battles

And djm111, help me out on this. I'm trying to incorporate Weavile into my competitive team. So would this be good?

Weavile
Item: Need help on this
Moves: Shadow Claw
           Ice Punch
           Giga Impact
           Dark Pulse?

The moves try to take advantage of Weavile's high attack stats. If you have any other advice or addition to the team that compliment Weavile than feel free to do so.

Many thanks!

Every time I try to get to Blackthorn City via Mahoghany Town, some guy stops me and tells me to explore. I've been EVERYWHERE except Blackthorn City, pretty much.

Go to the Goldenrod Underground. There will be a grunt there who gives you a free rocket uniform.

Re: The Pokémon Center: Tournaments, Trades, and Battles

Joe, I believe that switching Brick Break for Shadow claw would be best, as that can get rid of one of ice weaknesses, Rock. Its also a nice steel killer. Other than that, maybe pursiut instead of Darkpulse so that you can catch people on the switch.

Re: The Pokémon Center: Tournaments, Trades, and Battles

I almost have my team ready for this tournament just need another day or so.

The pokemon league was easy. I defeated it in 11 hours then Red at 17. I remembered gold to be harder than this does anyone else think it's easier?

I dunno. You'd best ask him.

----------------------------------------------

Your suggested moveset:
           Shadow Claw
           Ice Punch
           Giga Impact
           Dark Pulse?

This isn't meant offensively, but the larger part of that moveset needs changing.

Move 1: Swords Dance - This helps Weavile boost his attack to monstrous proportions if you anticipate the enemy switching.

Move 2: Ice Shard / Ice Punch - This makes good use of a STAB move which destroys the myriad Dragon types in competitive play. The choice between them depends on whether you prefer extra power or the extra speed.

Move 3: Low Kick - This allows Weavile to do damage to things that resist it, most notably steel.

Move 4: Pursuit / Night Slash - This makes use of Weaviles second STAB and is generally useful. Night Slash is more reliable, but Pursuit can be more effective if Weavile is used in the role of a revenge killer.

Brick Break would be a better choice over Low Kick. Well, not necessarily better, but it's an option.

Re: The Pokémon Center: Tournaments, Trades, and Battles

Agreed. I'll definitely include a good part of that advice in my pokemon. Before now I've always though offensive attacks were better but now I know that a balance of stats and moves make a best offense.

Thanks!
