I recently posted a comment where I used the "C" word, and not in a bad way, which is used in average children's programming, and it was removed.

Dude! The Scratchteam were doing the right thing there! I mean, this is a kids website! It`s there responsibility to keep this site safe. Who agrees with me?

P.S Pie.

I don't think I agree.  I mean, I hear kids swear way worse than that all the time.  The things I wouldn't like to see on this sight are cyber bullying, violence, ect.

P.S.  PANCAKES!

Re: I feel really scared about posting this topic...

Sorry, but I forgot to mention something. When _ closed my topic about my dead Ozzy, (see upthread) he was really polite about it. He said: " Sorry to hear about your fish. Im also sorry I have to close this thread because it seems to have wondered off topic." Then he closed it, and that was that.  tongue   I think its ok to say the c word as long its not for an offensive purpose.

People don't realise 9 year olds swear more than characters in MA15+ movies.

So true.

...snook...

the word is actually "snuck" or"sneaked". Both are acceptable in our wonderful English language.

You wouldn't see me randomly posting things, now would you?  big_smile

Just censor it well, and I guess that's 'nuff for it to be let through in Scratch. But Scratch IS for all ages, so just watch yourself. Substitutes are OK, aslong as you won't see 4 and 5 year olds starting to yell "GO TO FUDGING HECK!"

P.s I don`t go on xat anymore. Not allowed. I snook on there. My parents caught me.

Meh, I've sneaked on quite a few sites and haven't been caught. It's easier on a browser with tabs.

Question: Would posting a link a site you like, which has an optional payment thing be considered innapropriate?

Interesting question... I have seen some people mention websites or post links to web pages belonging to sites where payment is needed to access premium options (ie. deviantART, RuneScape, Roblox), but this was usually in terms of showing something off or meeting other Scratchers who are also members of that site. I can only remember one case where the link was removed [from a signature] because it looked like an ad that was trying to get people to come and sign up and was bleedingly close to being commercial spam. I would assume that so long as it is not for commercial purposes it would be okay... but we can always contact the Scratch team to be absolutely sure.  tongue

Would telling people to go to freerice (website where you donate rice by answering easy questions) be considered commercial spamming? Cause sometimes in threads that are appropriate I write telling them to help fight world hunger and go there. Just a question...  hmm

It is very possible that it could be. When it comes to links asking for Scratchers to visit a certain website, the conservative path is usually taken in cases where some kind of commercialism is involved (even if joining may be free) and such threads are either  closed or removed. Considering the controversy involving freerice (the debate on whether or not it is a legit donation website), I wouldn't suggest it. The Scratch Team usually has the final say in such cases, so you can always ask the Scratch Team first before promoting any website that may be questionable.

When you reach my age, you sneak onto a lot of sites. LOLWUT.

OK. Works for me. But I'm still asking people in person to go there.  lol
