I cant seem to change the timezone setting on my account (For the forums) I keep setting it to GMT, but it keeps going back +5 EST (I think) which is just annoying because its not right for me (Since i live in the UK)

The Scratch Team has seen it, and since (No offense Scratch Team) the Scratch Team is too lazy to fix it, andresmh just made an excuse and called it "Scratch Time".

If people keep on getting the problem, why not just remove the time zone option?

We could just keep pestering the Scratch Team untill they fix it.

More likely, for whatever reason (budget, programming resources, priorities), Andresmh has decided that there are other things that need to be fixed ahead of this issue.
I wonder what other things had to be fixed first... this bug is old!

In my suggestion for the time zone problem to be fixed (that topic's not too old
).
•Here's the topic

Well, there's the development of Scratch 2.0, enhancing project searches on the Scratch website, dealing with the servers... these just a few big priorities among many others. Fooling around with FluxBB to try and fix the Scratch Time bug or removing the option is probably not much of a big priority when there's a much bigger list of tasks to complete (especially when almost everybody can just see the actual times on their computers
).

I suppose so...
Usually when I'm traveling to areas with different time zones and visit my favorite forums, I'm not inclined to change the forum-set time zone to fit my surroundings. I usually just look at the current time and the current posts, which gives me a fairly good indicator at which time the posts were made based on whatever time zone I'm located in.
Hmm... Is it really that important for Scratchers to know what time a comment was posted, or is it really just bothersome to see a time that you guys are not used to?

I just add five to it, then if its 13, 14 15 etc, i take away 12 to get time in 000 GMT.
just do some maths.

That's not what bothers me - I just wonder, "If it's an old glitch, why didn't they have it fixed yet? And if they don't want to bother fixing it, why don't they just remove the time zone option? Leaving it there will just confuse new members... and why keep an option that doesn't work, anyway?".

I believe removing it from the forums is a lot easier said than done, much like fixing the bug itself. Both involve going into FluxBB and manipulating code.

Removing it would probably be easier than fixing it, but fixing it would be better on the whole... either way you solve the problem...
And i think its actualy PunBB that they use, I remember Andresh (Did i spell it right?) talking about going and looking for the latest PunBB plugins.

FluxBB is fork off of PunBB. According to my administration control panel, the Scratch Forums are FluxBB version 1.2.14.

So we're just going to leave the problem for even longer?
It'll just continue to puzzle new members...
Well, I suppose I'll just leave it then.
