Help with source code hack (hide/show lists) SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!! :(

I want to make a block that can hide lists and another one that can show them. I don't know much about the source code, but I know that you can make custom blocks. I just don't know how. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!  sad

I already looked there. It doesn't say how to make the blocks work, it only says how to make them appear.
