I'm demosthenes (as you may or may not know depending on whether you looked over there <-----) I've been Scratching since early 08 and late 07 (yes late 07 I didn't register 'til 08) and I've seen all kinds of scratch projects. I pride myself on ability to sift through projects to determine which are diverse, unique, original, inspiring, smoothly designed, and easy to adapt. If I were to become curator I would work to look through scratch projects that have received little attention, but could provide something to the community. Whether this would be because it was simple and provided an easy base for Scratch users to build off of, gave me inspiration that I felt the whole community would benefit from if it were on the front page, or provided a interesting and entertaining message that could reach and resound through all corners of the community, no matter how different racially, religiously, ethnically, or otherwise. I would choose projects that are well polished and push the limits of Scratch and present programming at its best.
Well, that's about all I can say on the matter (without ranting) so, thanks for reading (unless your one of those naughty people who skips to the bottoms of posts >.>) and please consider me as a candidate for curator.

But if you don't believe in chance/luck you must believe in fate/destiny. If there is no random chance then every time something seemingly random occurs, it must have been predetermined, because it wasn't a matter of chance. If it is predetermined that means it was destined to happen.

I don't know how I'd describe it... but its kinda of a very very very watered down version of fate... but its not fate...

Luck is a good probability.

Thats the scientific way or attempting to define luck and chance... probability is a type of chance, so it ends up as a paradox.

Re: Become a Curator on the Scratch Homepage

Wiki says:

A paradox is a statement or group of statements that leads to a contradiction or a situation which defies intuition. The term is also used for an apparent contradiction that actually expresses a non-dual truth (cf. kōan, Catuskoti). Typically, the statements in question do not really imply the contradiction, the puzzling result is not really a contradiction, or the premises themselves are not all really true or cannot all be true together. The word paradox is often used interchangeably with contradiction. It is also used to describe situations that are ironic.[citation needed]
But many paradoxes, such as Curry's paradox, do not yet have universally accepted resolutions.
Sometimes the term paradox is used for situations that are merely surprising. The birthday paradox, for instance, is unexpected but perfectly logical. The logician Willard V. O. Quine distinguishes falsidical paradoxes, which are seemingly valid, logical demonstrations of absurdities, from veridical paradoxes, such as the birthday paradox, which are seeming absurdities that are nevertheless true.[1] Paradoxes in economics tend to be the veridical type, typically counterintuitive outcomes of economic theory, such as Simpson's paradox. In literature a paradox can be any contradictory or obviously untrue statement, which resolves itself upon later inspection.
