This is not really a glitch but it is bad anyway. I have noticed that people are putting spam tags on other peoples projects like"waffles" or "pokemon are real". These have nothing To do with the project that they are on and generally very annoying. Please do something!

Is the flag button okay for tags? I thought it was only for inapproproate stuff...
There's a little [flag] next to each tag (except ones you made yourself). I assumed it was OK to flag irrelevant tags as well as inappropriate ones, but maybe not. Either way, you can always delete the annoying tags off your own projects. Do you know if there is a document anywhere that explains when it is appropriate to flag things? Sometimes its hard to decide if projects, comments, and tags count as "inappropriate" or just plain annoying... According to the dictionary, "inappropriate" means "not useful or suitable for a particular situation or purpose," and I think "waffles" and "pokemon are real" fall into that, but I tend to think of inappropriate things as stuff that is rude, vulgar, or violent, and generally unsuitable for kids to see. So which "inappropriate" is "flag as inappropriate"?

Good questions!
The main "explanation" document about what is or isn't appropriate is the Terms of Use - but it does leave room for interpretation.

Basically, just flag stuff you think is offensive or inappropriate. We check every project that is flagged, so we'll review and decide if it's ok or not. Contrary to what a lot of Scratchers seem to think, flagging a project does not remove it and make the Scratch Cat project replace it - it only sends us a message to check the project out (unless it is flagged multiple times, then the project disappears for a while until we review it).
As for tags - we've generally taken a hands off approach when it comes to stuff like "waffles." Some community members really get a kick out of tagging in this way, and it doesn't really do much harm (it just means if you search on the waffles tag you'll get a zillion different projects). So while we don't encourage that kind of thing, it's not really necessary to flag it (but it's ok if you have - don't sweat it!) Mean or inappropriate tags definitely should be flagged.

Thanks Lightnin! That definitely clarifies things. Now that I think about it, you're right that the "waffles" type flags do no harm, and so there's not much of a reason to flag them. I still think I'll continue to delete unrelated tags off my own projects because I don't want people who are looking for actual projects about a subject (say "penguins," for example) to end up with my project instead. (Not that I don't want more views- I just don't want other users to get frustrated) Anyway, thanks a lot- that really helps.
